GMS has many clubs, teams and activities you can participate in. Try something NEW!!

Badminton

Badminton tryouts usually start in March. See the sports bulletin board for more information.

Basketball

Senior Boys and Girls basketball tournaments have been completed for the year.

 

Caribou/Gauss

Caribou Contest (open to all students)

The Caribou Mathematics Competition is a world wide online contest that is held six times throughout the school year. The Caribou Cup is the series of all Caribou Contests in one year. Each student's ranking in the Caribou Cup is determined by their performance in their best five of six contests through the school year.

Gauss Math (grade 7 and 8)

The Gauss Contests are an opportunity for students to have fun and to develop their mathematical problem solving ability.

Chess Club

The Chess Club has adjourned for the year. See you in September.

Concert Band

Concert Band is a ensemble that performs traditional and contemporary works.

Practices are once a week in the music room at noon recess.


Cross-country

Typically our first team event of the school year, students have the opportunity to improve their long distance running skills.

ECO Club
Do you care about the environment? Want to make a difference? Come check us out in room 101. 

Equipment Lending Program

You can borrow equipment to play with outside at recess. Every homeroom has been given a bag of equipment. Return it when recess is done.


Flag football

The football season begins in September. Students must return their concussion history forms in order to participate in tryouts. Flag Rugby New this year - our co-ed flag rugby team. See Mr. McDonald for more info.


Future Aces

Future Aces encourages responsible citizenship, empowers students through positive thinking, and demonstration of positive character traits to create a culture of caring, participation and action for others in the school and community.

G Notes

G Notes is a choir made up of intermediate students who like to sing classic & contemporary songs.

Intramurals Intramural sports run throughout the year and are open to everyone- no tryouts. Students must return their concussion history forms in order to participate in intramurals.

Jazz Band

Jazz Band is a smaller ensemble of students with a love of playing Jazz.

Actors, stage managers, lighting technicians, set designers, costume designers!

Open Gym

Come to the gym at recess to be active and play some indoor games. Listen to announcements to find out when it's your grade's turn.

Rubik's Cube Club

Bring a cube if you have one. If not, use one of ours!

Skittles Club Club

Join our LGBTQ+S club and be a part of our friendly community.

Soccer

Junior Soccer is usually in the fall. Senior Soccer begins in May. Listen to announcements to find out more. Students must return their concussion history forms in order to participate in tryouts. It is recommended that they wear cleats, shin guards, soccer shorts and t-shirt, and tie long hair back during all tryouts, practice and games.


Student Council

Council meets once a month during noon recess. Represent your class and be a an important voice in GMS activity decisions.

Track and Field

The track and field season begins in May and we hold a whole school meet. Tryouts occur at this time and the top two finishers are invited to join the team.


Triple Ball

Grade 6 Triple Ball begins later in the year.

Students must return their concussion history forms in order to participate.
Volleyball
Senior Girls’ and Boys’ volleyball teams compete during the fall.
