Dear GMS Parents/Guardians,

As you know from last night’s messaging we have completed the re-organizations and all families affected have been contacted.  Separating one group into two is a careful process, and our staff has diligently reviewed many variables to ensure as smooth a transition as possible. 

I am pleased to announce that as part of the process, we have been able to have Mr. Derouin return to GMS.  His experience in the role and experience with the GMS community make him ideal for the EMFI Grade 7B homeroom position.  

I am also pleased to welcome Mrs. Rashid. Her experience in an intermediate school setting and desire to set students up for success make her ideal for the grade 6 homeroom class.  

Next, I am pleased to announce that Mrs. Helmer will remain at GMS.  She has experience across the grades and with the GMS school community.  She will be teaching the newly formed Grade 6/7 English homeroom.  

We are excited about School Council's pizza program which starts this upcoming Wednesday and the popcorn program which begins this upcoming Friday.  Thank you for supporting these School Council programs.

Royal Ottawa Health Presentation

We are excited to share that our Grade 7 and 8 students are being offered the opportunity to attend a presentation on October 17th @ 11:00 am. 

This presentation will introduce the students to a cooperative program between the Ottawa Carleton District School Board and the Royal Mental Health - Care and Research team. The EIP program is a mental wellness program as outlined below.  For more info, please click here.

We are only $145 from our second benchmark goal, so we are keeping the online donation link available until Tuesday with the hope that we may celebrate our campaign with a staff vs. students mini sports tournament.
