BORROWED CHROMEBOOKS AND HOTSPOTS:  For families who have received Chromebooks and/or hotspots, at this time, we are asking you to hold on to those devices and we will arrange for their return at the start of the 2020-2021 school year. If you have a hotspot, the hotspot will be deactivated as of June 26th. If your child is leaving the OCDSB, then we ask that you email directly so that we can connect with you about a drop-off date and ensure the device is properly logged as returned. Please do not return any borrowed devices during your school visit to retrieve belongings as it is likely to be quite busy and we want to be sure all devices are properly returned to inventory. As well, students who borrowed devices will still need access to this technology as the school year ends, and as summer school starts for those who have registered.

STUDENT BELONGINGS:  For students who were not able to pick up their belongings over the last 2 weeks, we have packed those up, labelled the bags and stored them safely for the summer. Students will be able to get them as soon as we are back in the building.  For Grade 8 students who were not able to come in, we have also packed up any locker belongings and stored those away. You are welcome to come by the school in September to get them. We have put your composite photo, your Leaving Certificate and your T-Shirt with them.

REPORT CARDS: To register to receive your child’s report card, please follow this link.

GRADE 8 LEAVING CEREMONY VIDEO: The video is available on Google Sites and will require an OCDSB email account to access it. This means that students will need to be the ones to log in with their school accounts to view it. Students received details on how to access the video.

HOT LUNCH REFUNDS:  With the donations of the refunds, we are able to donate a total of $2800.00 to the food banks in Richmond and Stittsville. The money will be split between the 2 food banks and cheques will be sent to them directly. Thank you so much for your donations. It is truly appreciated!

SUMMER SCHOOL:  Registration for summer school through our Continuing Education department has now closed and with this begins the process of managing withdrawals and wait lists. For your information, summer school is a program that our school board runs every summer, and is not connected to the Covid-19 closure. Confirmations for all summer school programs will be sent directly to parents, CC. the school, including information about whether your child is on a wait list. Please contact towards the end of next week if you have not heard from Continuing Education about a course you believe your child should be enrolled in. Additionally, if you did enroll your child and now wish to withdraw, please email Gaynor directly.

VIRTUAL LIBRARY: Mrs. Judd has spent the past several weeks creating a website for families to access a wide variety of online resources. Please take a moment to check it out: Virtual Library

OSTA: OSTA is working with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB), Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) and Ottawa Public Health (OPH) to develop a safe plan for students for the 2020/21 school year. We thank you for your patience as we navigate these uncertain times and will continue to update parents throughout the summer and beginning of the school year.
